On March 23, the President signed into law the Patient Protection and Affordable Act (H.R. 3590), a law that overhauls the U.S. health care system. A series of “fixes” in the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H.R. 4872), signed into law on March 30, 2010, modified provisions of the health care overhaul legislation by revising student loans procedures and including revenue-raising provisions, as part of a two-step strategy to pass comprehensive health care reform.
