Apprenticeship Good for Ben Franklin Closes Skills Gap

Posted by Chad Aleshire - On August 01, 2013 (EST)

An article published today by Bloomberg News highlights the role Registered Apprenticeship is playing to help close the skills gap many employers face when trying to fill positions. The article also references the Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship's (ACA) recently issued 21st Century Vision for Apprenticeship report, which we've also shared here on the Community of Practice. The article also promotes the use of tax credits and touts the success South Carolina and other states have had using such incentives to expand apprenticeship. As Registered Apprenticeship continues to gain notice by national publications, our hope is this attention catches the eye of our policy makers and helps drive policy decisions that promote the expansion of the Earn and Learn model.
