Apprenticeships Could Be Gateway to Middle Class

Posted by Chad Aleshire - On January 15, 2015 (EST)

Great article from Jan. 12 on the US News & World Report site touts Apprenticeship as the “gateway” to the middle class. The article shares the story of apprentices working their way through a Mechatronics program with Siemens that results in an Associates degree and a job earning $55K a year. Longtime Apprenticeship advocate Bob Lerman, economics professor at American University and fellow at the Urban Institute, and Secretary of Labor Tom Perez also weigh in in support of apprenticeship expansion in the U.S.
